A friend of mine already has a visa for the US.
She is very worried about the possibility of being denied entry in the US.
Is the interview like the visa interview all over again?
Should she be travelling with bank statements, yadiyadiya, anything that shows that she is not likely to fall under the scope of INS...
She obtained that visa several years ago and never used it, and now wants to travel there and look for the possibility of studying ENG there for 6 months to a year (without being a grad. or exchange student).
BTW, I have alerady scouted all the foreignborn, state dept, educationUSA web sites and am looking for real life stuff someone would know.
Thanks for any info!

Does she have any contacts or anything there? Everyone I know who goes there always has some place to go, a plan, a friend, a relative, etc... If she goes with no real plan and no where to stay and knowing no one, that may seem a bit, well, odd. Maybe she could fake it? _________________

What kind of visa exactly Because I doubt that a normal tourist visa qualifies to stay for more than 90 days
So if it´s a regular tourist visa that she got, it´s impossible to stay 6 months or a whole year
Beside she midght need a student visa to study English So she better doesn´t mention anything about studying to the imigration officer.
BTW, a visa is not a garatee to enter a counrty The last word is always with the imigration officer, she wouldn´t be the first that arrives on a US airport and the imigration officer denies entry, EVEN WITH VISA _________________ MINEIRO ALEMÃO

Depending on the case she can get a 6 month visa but she intends to study then she must get a student visa first....
Best of Luck to you all,
