Where in the bible does it say that other faiths should be respected and considered for what they are?

Actually it doesn't ever say anything like that. The Old Testament assumes that Judaism is the only way; the New Testament pretty much assumes that Christianity is the only way, though there are some isolated examples that hint at a broader concept of tolerance. (This is not to say that the NT teaches intolerance. )

However, even though it doesn't specifically say what you said, it does very specifically teach that Christians are to treat everyone with courtesy, compassion, respect, and, most of all, love. So, even though a Christian person may not agree with what a Muslim or a Buddhist believes, he is bound (if he takes his faith seriously) to treat others honorably.

So which part of the the bible makes you ignore the "Christianity is the only way" bit? Shouldn't Christians at least be trying to convert people from other faiths?
